Venetian Plaster is a lime-based wall finish with hand-applied texture and depth. Microcement is a cement-based coating tough enough for floors, wet areas and benchtops, applied over existing surfaces. Texture on a wall means Venetian Plaster. A seamless surface you can walk on means Microcement.

Paint sits on the wall as a flat colour. Venetian Plaster is built up in hand-applied layers of lime and marble dust, creating real texture and depth that shifts with the light. It's also breathable and naturally mould resistant, which paint is not.

Yes, with the right finish. Tadelakt is a traditional waterproof lime plaster, sealed with soap, used in Moroccan bathhouses for centuries. It's the go-to for wet areas. For general bathroom walls, most lime finishes perform well thanks to lime's natural moisture resistance.

The Decora lime collection runs to eleven slaked lime finishes, ready to use straight from the bucket, plus five powder finishes mixed on site. We stock a curated selection and can order in specialty finishes on request.
