Diamond Floor Level is a polymer-modified microcement from the Decora Diamond system, formulated for application over surfaces that require levelling before a finish coat. Applied at 2 to 3mm thick directly over existing substrates including concrete, tiles, plasterboard, timber and hebel without demolition. Creates a smooth, consistent base ready for a finish coat of Diamond Floor Normal or Fine. Coverage: 0.6 to 0.7kg per square metre per coat. Two-coat application. Applied with a stainless steel or PVC trowel. Available in 63 colours through the Decora tinting system. Note: not suitable for pools as chlorine degrades the sealer. What Is Microcement? Carlos Explains

Carlos applies the Decora Diamond Microcement System on real projects every week and teaches it at our Caloundra training centre. In this short video, he explains what Microcement is, where it works best, and what makes a finish that lasts.

Microcement Specifications

The Decora Diamond System

A seamless, Italian-made Microcement system for interior floors, walls, bathrooms and benchtops, applied in thin layers over existing surfaces.

The Decora Diamond System is built in four layers, each formulated to bond with the next.

It begins with a primer matched to your surface: DOC Primer for concrete, or One Primer for tiles, ceramic, marble, wood and MDF. Where the surface is uneven, two coats of Decora Floor Level follow, creating a flat and even base. The decorative finish comes next, applied in two thin coats of Diamond Floor or the smoother Diamond Floor Fine, tinted to your chosen colour. Two coats of Diamond Sealer, in matt or gloss, then protect the surface and complete the system.

Finish Thickness

About 0.8 to 1.0mm for Diamond Floor, or up to 2.8mm with two coats of Floor Level beneath.

Performance (Diamond Floor)

Adhesion to concrete over 2.5MPa after 7 days. Compressive strength over 50MPa after 28 days. Low VOC at 12g/L.

Application Conditions

Between 5°C and 30°C, with relative humidity below 85% while applying and below 70% while sealing. Not suited to surfaces with rising or constant damp.

Drying and Curing

Recoat Diamond Floor once touch dry, usually 3 hours. Allow up to 12 hours for it to dry fully before sealing. Once sealed, protect the surface for 24 hours. The sealer reaches full hardness in 7 days, so wait the full 7 days before the surface gets wet, including using the shower.

Storage

Keeps for 12 months or more unopened, stored between 8°C and 30°C. Never allow to freeze.

Italian Decorative Wall & Floor Finishes

Decora A&C is an Italian manufacturer of decorative wall and floor finishes, including Venetian plaster, lime plaster and the Decora Diamond Microcement System. Every Decora product is designed and manufactured in Italy using Italian raw materials.

Founder Luigi Sparacello's story began in Lercara Friddi, a small town in Sicily. In 2004 he moved to Hong Kong with an Italian company and helped create a landmark casino interior in Macao. He later founded Decora A&C in Singapore with a clear ambition: Italian finishes of the highest quality and low environmental impact, made for the decorators who apply them.

In 2021, Decora returned to where it all began. Its Italian headquarters, production and academy opened in Lercara Friddi, followed by a showroom in Palermo. Through the Decora Academy, applicators train in Microcement, lime and metallic finishes.

Which primer does my surface need?

Concrete takes one coat of DOC Primer. Tiles, ceramic, marble and granite take one coat of One Primer, as do wood, MDF and smooth painted surfaces. If the surface is uneven, follow the primer with two coats of Floor Level; wood and MDF always need them. Not sure what you're working with? Send us a photo and we'll tell you exactly what to use.

Diamond Floor or Diamond Floor Fine?

Both belong to the same ready-to-use system, share the same primers and sealer, and are tinted through the Decora colour system. Diamond Floor Fine gives a smoother, softer finish, while Diamond Floor carries a little more texture and movement.

How much do I need?

A 20kg pail of Diamond Floor covers roughly 16 to 20m² across two coats. A 5kg kit of Diamond Sealer covers roughly 25m² across two coats. Textured or porous surfaces use more, so allow a little extra, and send us your measurements if you'd like us to check your order.

Can I use it outdoors?

The Diamond System is specified by Decora for interior walls, floors and benchtops, and One Primer is for interior use only. If your project is outdoors, speak with us before ordering so we can advise on the right approach.

Is the Diamond System waterproof?

Once sealed, it's highly water resistant, which is why it performs beautifully in bathrooms and showers. It isn't a waterproofing membrane, though, and it doesn't replace one. In any Australian wet area, a compliant membrane must go on first, as required by the National Construction Code and AS 3740. The membrane waterproofs the room; the sealer protects the finish.

How soon can the surface be used?

Protect the surface for at least 24 hours after sealing. It reaches full hardness over the next 7 days, so keep heavy traffic and furniture to a minimum until then. In bathrooms and showers, keep the surface completely dry for the full 7 days.

Will the colour match the swatch?

On-screen swatches are a guide only, as every screen displays colour differently. For a true read, order the Diamond Colour Sample Brochure and view it in the room's natural light before committing. Order tinted product for the whole job at once, as separate batches can vary slightly.

Can I return tinted product?

Every colour is tinted to order for your project, so we're unable to accept change-of-mind returns on tinted product. If you have any questions before you buy, please get in touch. We'll gladly help you choose with confidence. This doesn't affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
